"NEVER TOO LATE" Jimi's new cd is due out in November 2012.
Jimi Jamison is currently the lead singer of the group Survivor and a solo artist.
"I'M ALWAYS HERE", which he co-wrote and performed for the world wide "Number 1 TV Show" (BAYWATCH) is certain to solidify his standing as one of the premier performers in the music industry today. (BAYWATCH) according to the Guinness Book of World Records, is the all time most watched TV show in the world, with over 1.1 Billion viewers.
From humble beginnings in rural Mississippi and Memphis, Tennessee to established superstar worldwide, his achievements call to mind another Memphis Rock and Roll Legend (Elvis) who Jimi met as a young boy while Elvis was on one of his famous shopping sprees. Like Elvis, Jimi has never forgotten from whence he came, and continues to be dedicated to benefits assisting St. Jude Children's Hospital, The Special Olympics and the Cancer Society.
Beginning with the nationally acclaimed A&M recording and touring act Target in the 1970's, Jimi continued his rise to stardom with Epic Records Swiss/American band, COBRA through the early 1980's.
In 1983, he joined the group SURVIVOR. The band's first album with Jimi, "VITAL SIGNS" was a huge success for the band. Music videos made Jimi an instant favorite on MTV and led the band to a peak of #16 on Billboard's "Top 200" Albums" charts thanks to the hits:
"I CAN'T HOLD BACK" (which hit 13 on Billboard's "Hot 100 Singles" chart), "HIGH ON YOU" (8), "BURNING HEART" (2), "IS THIS LOVE" (6) and "THE SEARCH IS OVER" (4).
The group went on to enjoy five singles in the Top Ten, Five Double Platinum Albums, and Mulitple Movie Soundtracks. Other fan favorites Include "REBEL SON", "THE MOMENT OF TRUTH" (from the Karate Kid movie), "FIRST NIGHT", "DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS LOVE" and "TOO HOT TO SLEEP", all delivered with crisp, clean live band backup for the strong voiced Jamison.
His solo cd's "ROCK HARD" (1991), "WHEN LOVE COMES DOWN" and "CROSSROADS MOMENT" (2009) features the unmistakable sound and explosive power of Jamison's voice.
In 2011 Jimi teamed up with Bobby Kimball of TOTO and released a duet cd and dvd titled KIMBALL/JAMISON which got rave reviews in Europe and Asia and allowed Jimi and Bobby the opportunity to tour extensively.
In addition to his career as a lead vocalist, he has also made six music videos and has made multiple television appearances. He has served on the Grammy Awards Committee and is a member of AFTRA, SAG, and NARAS. He has performed back up vocals for recordings by ZZ Top, George Thorogood, Jeff Healy Band, 10 Years After, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Molly Hatchett, Tora Tora, Roxy Blue and numerous other recording artists. A few of Jimi's co-writers are icons such as Joe Walsh, Jim Peterik, Steve Cropper, Kenny Mims, Mandy Meyer, Robert Johnson and Joe Hardy.
Billy Gibbons refers to Jimi as the honorary forth member of ZZ Top!
Jimi has never forgotten from whence he came. He just recently returned from a tour of Iraq, performing for our troops. He continues to be dedicated to charity work such as: St. Jude Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Dove House for Abused Children, WTC Relief, Special Olympics, Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Cancer Society, Fergie's Hep C Benefits, George Klein's famous annual Christmas Charity Show and Auction, The Children's Diabetes Foundation, The Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon, the ARF Foundation headed by Tony La Russa (Oakland A's & St. Louis Cardinals x-manager), and the Toys for Tots programs nationwide.
Jimi has been recognized by the Governors of Tennessee, Ohio and Arkansas for his work on and off the stage and he commands a loyal and dedicated following appearing at each of his concerts...
