Jane Getter is "the fieriest frettboarding female ever to strap on a Stratocaster" according to Guitar Player Magazine.
She has played with many jazz and rock greats while garnering increasing recognition as a bandleader and gifted writer and instrumentalist. Early in her career she toured with legendary jazz/blues organist Brother Jack McDuff, which provided invaluable training ground. Her composing talents received attention when she won the ASCAP Gershwin Award for Music for Dance or Theatre in the mid 90's. She then received widespread exposure playing in the Saturday Night Live Band.
Her debut CD "Jane" received worldwide critical acclaim. "See Jane Run", her 2nd CD was released in 2006 on Alternity Records, (at the time the home of Allan Holdsworth). This CD is a powerful statement, containing the classic jazz/rock anthem "the Loop". Her latest progressive jazz/rock release “three" was released in 2012 on Alternity Records and features a stellar crew of NY's finest - Adam Holzman (Miles Davis keyboardist and currently keyboardist in Steven Wilson's Band (from Porcupine Tree), James Genus (Saturday Night Live bass player) and Anton Fig (drummer in David Letterman's CBS Orchestra).
