Just finished a rework of the two main workstations for the studio.... and some editing and mastering for a couple of clients. Lots of wires today...

Tracking a little jazz/funk and then an acoustic ensemble...a day of good quality music. Tonight it's off to deliver some HD video of a recent TaeKwonDo competition that just got edited...

Thanks Evan, great to meet you as well as looking forward to hearing your work. We never get to play in Southern Ontario but would love to come up that way. If you know someone that books our style of music pass the info along. Thx again ttyl

Completing another audio project for factor- this time a jazz/funk album with Mike Joblinski. Great tone and some really exciting performances. Exceptional job, guys!

Do you mean Factor, the Federal grant program? Would love to her some of this - Jazz/funk is what we're all about.

That's right- factor is still giving some money out for production- although they're getting VERY careful these days. I'll ask the guys if they'd be ok to post an example or two once we've done the mastering process in about 3 weeks. In the meantime feel free to check out my other stuff with various artists. I'll find a couple other other funk artists to post up there for you :)

Just completed another couple of large choir recordings (one mobile and one in the studio), and a couple of really great harder rock productions. I'm always amazed at the level of talent of unsigned artists in Toronto!

I've heard that Toronto has some really amazing talent. It's rare that we hear any of them even though Montreal is really not far away. I guess there's plenty of work for them in T.O.?

Actually, it's getting harder to find paying gigs for "real" music here (a lot of Rap and mediocre dance, but that's another story). I think budget for travel may actually be keeping them from getting to other provinces, since everyone is so broke in Toronto now (sigh!) And it is getting harder to find gigs that pay for hotel plus travel plus rentals and all...

True enough. I know that that is the reason we don't travel much. Our pay would be used up quickly on expenses. I played at CMW a couple of years ago only because expenses were covered.

At the request of a couple of interested musicians, I've posted a basic list of some of my production gear. Have a listen to my examples and see the results I get from them. Hope you enjoy! Thanks all!

The basic version of logic audio is VERY cheap now (and still has everything most normal musicians would ever need). That might be a good entry point for you-and give you a chance to see if you like it. Logic requires quite a bit of setup at first (they all do really)...but it's very stable and easy to use after that..; :)

That's good. I've heard it's changed a lot - more to resemble Garage Band. I used to have Logic 6 and it was completely illogical. Completely opposite from what I was used - digital performer and others. Thanks for the advice, Evan.
